I have been working as a street artist in our capital Valletta for the last 7 years. My work attracts thousands of viewers as all art is created on the spot as well as for the fact that very few people can create handmade engravings - a dying art which I'm seeking to revive. Now I proudly say that both locals and foreigners admire my work, I have built a client base which even include jewellery shops and wedding agencies. What irritates me is that artists are not respected in Malta if you don't have the media attached to your arse. We have received police harassments forcing us to close down our stalls, summoning us in court and dictating laws and rules which are nowhere to be found. Both me and my friend who is a candle maker as well as a street artist are working to strengthen our job, putting pressure on authorities to support our case.
